Who We Are
Michael J. Workman PT, C/NDT
Michael J. Workman PT, C/NDT graduated from The State University of New York, Stony Brook in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. After clinical training with United Cerebral Palsy and NYU’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, he accepted a physical therapy position with the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
During his time at Mount Sinai, Michael completed his degree at the University of Utah on a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, graduating in 1994. In the summer of 1995, he was certified in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Treatment in Queensland, Australia. Upon his return to New York City, Michael accepted a position with the New York City Board of Education and began practicing pediatrics full-time at Public School 380 in Brooklyn. In 1996, he returned part-time to Mount Sinai Medical Center to help re-establish their outpatient pediatric physical therapy service. After his marriage in 1997, he and his wife Sue, also a physical therapist, moved to Utah. Together they founded Professional Therapies in 1999.
In 2001, Michael received his Neuro-developmental Treatment Certification in "The Treatment of the Baby" and has assisted with several courses as a practicum instructor. He has also been involved in clinical instruction for the University of Utah Physical Therapy Program. He currently provides therapy services for Spina Bifida Clinic at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City as well as therapy services for Prader-Willi Cinic for the state of Utah. Michael also has over 19 years of experience working in early intervention programs (birth to 3 years old).
Michael and his wife Sue reside in Salt Lake City with their four beautiful children.
Sue Workman PT, MA
Sue Workman PT, MA received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1991 at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Upon graduation she moved to New York City and enjoyed a wide range of experience in both the private practice sector and teaching hospitals. While working full time at the Veterans Administration Medical Center from 1991-1994 she completed a Master of Arts in Applied Physiology from Columbia University. She also had the pleasure of teaching Gross Anatomy Lab as an adjunct professor for Ithaca College’s PT program in the Bronx, NY before they moved their program upstate.
In 1994 she accepted a position at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she met her husband Michael. Throughout the years Sue has attended many specialized continuing education courses and is certified in Cranio-Sacral Therapy.
In 1997 after moving to Salt Lake City, Utah she accepted a position at Shriners Hospital for Children where she worked full-time until the birth of their first child. She has worked in the homecare sector for many years and currently works both with geriatrics as well as providing pediatric PT services for North Summit County School District. Her most important role, however, is being a mom to her four amazing children.
